About Extra and Double Extra Flavor
Adding EXTRA FLAVOR: When you order Extra Flavor, you get more of the complete flavor blend added to the bottle. Not just one specific flavor.
DOUBLE EXTRA FLAVOR is only recommended for customers who are experienced with a particular flavor.
Adding extra and double extra flavor can change the way your e-liquid tastes.
A GOOD QUESTION POSTED BY A CUSTOMER ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE:
''One other thing: would adding extra flavor help? What exactly does it mean that it will "change the original recipe taste"? Does that mean if I order eggnog it won't taste as much like eggnog if I add extra flavor? ''
Re EGGNOG question: Yes it will taste like eggnog, and with extra flavoring, it will be a stronger eggnog :-)
We formulate our recipes so that options can be 'added' for varying tastes. If we make it too strong to begin with, to lower the flavor strength would require dilution. So...
Regular flavor is usually a nice 'average' vapor for the average palate.
Extra Flavor increases the flavor enough for folks who want to have that extra flavor making it more pronounced, or for those who may have less sensitive tastebuds. The exact amount of extra flavor varies between recipes. Each recipe is formulated to make the flavor more intense without 'overdoing' it when extra flavor is selected.
Finally, Double Extra Flavor is for folks who like a really strong or intense flavor, or for those who are mixing flavors. Double extra flavor also helps to keep mixes from diluting. (Customers who experience Vaper's Tongue may find Double Extra Flavor a good option until their tastes return to normal)
Re: Changing taste: taste is very subjective and flavors have different tastes at higher concentrations.
Re: Double Extra: This should be added with care as too much flavor and options can make a flavor go bad or even become tasteless: example: if you choose double extra flavor, plus menthol or cool hit, plus sweetener plus 2 or 3 flavor shots, that really mixes it up. (We make the options available to mix and match, but care should be taken not to select all the options) :-)
IF YOUR BLEND IS 'TOO' FLAVORFUL, many of them can be saved by steeping for an extended amount of time with the lid and dropper-tip off (IN A SAFE PLACE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS). Shake daily or every few days to assist the process. Let it steep for a few weeks. Try it every week and one day, it may mature into a blend you will love. This is not uncommon.
ALSO, A BLEND THAT IS TOO STRONG MAY BE SAVED BY MIXING WITH a WEAKER BLEND: There are two ways you can do this:
The first method is DILUTION: You can use flavorless with the same nicotine and base mix options, then mix in a different bottle. Add a small amount of each bottle, shake, sample, then adjust by adding more of either flavor until you find the right mix.
The second method is to decrease the flavor slightly by ordering a bottle with the same options in regular flavor. (Or less options). Then mix together and adjust until you find the flavor you like.
FOR EITHER METHOD, LET YOUR NEW MIX STEEP: Your new mix will be like a brand new blend and will require steeping for the mixed flavors to mature together.
(Larger bottles can be found under supplies or save larger bottles from previous purchases)
WARNING: SELECT OPTIONS WITH CARE and ALWAYS TRY A 5mL bottle size before ordering a larger size
EXTRA Flavoring is not always a good thing! Too much extra flavor can make a flavor BAD: Options are available to mix and match to suit your taste. Care should be taken to not over flavor, (i.e. adding double extra flavor plus extra menthol plus double sweetener plus flavor shots will alter the original recipe and may give it a metallic or medicinal taste.) REPEAT: Always order a 5ml bottle before ordering a larger size.
INTERESTING ARTICLES AND INFORMATION ABOUT TASTE
Supertasters [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA] A supertaster is a person whose sense of taste is significantly more sensitive than average. The cause of this heightened response is likely, at least in part, due to an increased number of fungiform papillae. Study have shown that supertasters require less fat and sugar in their food to get the same satisfying effects. However, contrary to what one might think, these people actually tend to consume more salt than the average person. This is due to their heightened sense of the taste of bitterness, and the presence of salt drowns out the taste of bitterness. (This also explains why supertasters prefer salted cheddar cheese over non-salted.)
Acquired taste [SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA] Acquired taste is an appreciation for a food or beverage that one is likely to initially dislike. Many of the world's delicacies are considered acquired tastes.

HOW MANY TASTE BUDS DOES A PERSON HAVE? [SOURCE: ANSWERS.YAHOO.COM]
Scientists have measured the taste bud density of volunteers. They found that a person who is an "average taster" has about 184 taste buds per square centimeter of tongue - now that's a lot of tasting - but some people are "supertasters" with 425 buds per sq.cm. whereas those called "non-tasters" average just 96 buds per sq.cm.
The average person has about 10,000 taste buds and they're replaced every 2 weeks or so. But as a person ages, some of those taste cells don't get replaced. An older person may only have 5,000 working taste buds. Smoking also can reduce the number of taste buds a person has.
